Interviewer: Tell us about your company and products.
Sue Katz: We are an independent women owned company that is entering our 25th year in business. We are a color cosmetics company focusing on complexion and have been heavily used in the television and film industry because our products completely cover imperfections without the look of makeup.
Interviewer: Had you worked with other 3PL’s previously? If so, what was your experience?
Sue Katz: We worked with another 3PL the first 8 years we were in business then purchased and ran our own warehouse since last year. The first 3PL was a nightmare with short ships and inaccurate inventory counts forcing us to take operations in our own hands.

Sue Katz: Running and owning our own warehouse was becoming more and more expensive so we began interviewing 3PLs to see how they worked now 16 years later with technology improvements. Many 3PLs I interviewed did not have the systems in place for smaller pick and pack items such as our cosmetics. We mostly ship B2C. There are a few companies that only ship cosmetics, but they are all on the coasts and more expensive. Sue Katz: We have a point person, Dan who I can call pretty much anytime to help with a special order or to confirm an inventory count. We love never having to worry that our orders are shipped out accurately and on a timely basis. That is a huge weight off a small business like ours.
